Biogeographical and ecophysiological comparison of Californian and Mediterranean perennial grasses

Kurt Vaughn, a graduate student at UC Davis, went to Spain to work with Dr. Robert Savé Monserrat of IRTA on the ecophysiology of perennial grasses of California and the Mediterranean. While both sets of species experience summer drought and often go dormant, the Mediterranean receives some summer precipitation, which may explain why they differ.
